The project consisted in tuning different products and functions into one collection. All products needed to be packed as compact as possible, not only on the POS turnstile, but also in your luggage. The products crossed over from softside to hardside, and even some electronic products on the way… All with one goal: to ease the trip and de stress of travelling for the traveller. read more
MAXIMALdesign won the pitch for the care centre project in Turnhout. The goals were develop a full interior concept with comfort, a home feeling and wayfinding as key words. The final concept was written into a design guide for the execution to be ready for the grand opening on May 25th.
This service design oriented project was the final layer in a total facility project for the OCMW in Turnhout (Openbaar Centrum voor Maatschappelijk Welzijn / the public institution for social welfare) with a new care center for the elderly in which 144 new guests can stay. The new building had to become a home for them but in different levels. Some elderly come here while still quite active. Other need a lot of care and are bound to their bed. The care center gives room for all these different levels of care…
A new house, a new style
Together with this renovation, the corporate style of Febiac, Febiac Academy and The House of the Automobile were modernised in order to mark out the federation as a modern, open and future driven organisation. read more
Hoet&Hoet commissioned MAXIMALdesign to translate the new graphic identity for the Belgian Train station to an important piece of street furniture for “The Station”, specifically a recycle bin.
The National Railway Company of Belgium -NMBS/SNCB- installed during this year the special “see through” recycle bins in the train stations. The railways chose for this kind of bins to minimize security problems..
At this stage the first batch of 300 bins is delivered to the main stations of belgium. Feedback is very positive from the public; not only is the bin perceived as an icon within the trainstation environment, but the recycling accuracy is very high while maintance remains easy… The bins are made by belgian company Engels from Zonhoven, who are also taking care of the maintanance aspect…

The DC800 driver console for Prodata Mobility Systems was recently pre-introduced at the Dubai Public Transport Fair with great succes. Although still in the final development stage, the multitude of modular features attracted a lot of attention to this innovative product and logic addition to the public transport validation range.
