EXPERIENCE AUGMENTED REALITY IN RETAIL: THE VIRTUAL FITTING ROOM
Swiss watch maker Tissot did an experiment in the shopwindows of Selfridges in London which allowed passersby to see the Tissot Touch Watch on their own wrist, without even entering the shop.
A plastic bracelet is attached on your arm where the watch would be. Then a camera in the shopwindow replaces this bracelet with a 3D rendering of the various watches on your wrist in realtime and the result is shown on a television display.

EXPERIENCE AUGMENTED REALITY IN RETAIL: THE INTERACTIVE SHOP WINDOW
We all know it and have probably already experienced it all: closing time. A hateful fact, especially if after your stressful day, you want to enjoy a little shopping … At Pinko, they found a solution already. Although closing times can still be respected, the entire collection and different combinations in the Pinko store, are available from February 2, 2011 all day and all night, week and week-end… In the Antwerp store they showcase their interactive shopwindow where all this information is made available.
Earlier, consumers could use the Pinko store Stylist, a touch screen that makes them guide in the shop. This idea was extended to the window and the idea of “virtual” shopping was born. In short: even after closing time, you can work with this interactive ’style guide’. The idea has already been tested in Milan and is now also live in Antwerp. The only drawback: when you have found the absolute fashion accessory to add to you wardrobe,  you  still need to respect the opening hours of the shop to fit the item.

EXPERIENCE AUGMENTED REALITY IN RETAIL: THE TWEET MIRROR
Westfield London, the shopping centre, has introduced a “tweet mirror” that allows shoppers to look at themselves in the mirror and share their image in real time with friends and followers on the web.
The mirror, created by Nedap, a retail services company, features a digital camera with a built-in web connection, so shoppers can receive instant feedback from friends on Facebook and Twitter on what they have decided to buy.
