'Live the brand' - the Deloitte experience

Deloitte Belgium partnered with MAXIMALdesign to redesign their headquarters in Brussels. The second phase of the renovation included the reception patio with integrated coffee lounge, meeting rooms and waiting area.

PHASE 2: reception patio & coffee lounge

After the successful renovation of kitchen and cafetaria we recently finalized phase 2 of the metamorphosis – redesign of the reception patio and coffee lounge.

The challenge was to create an environment that would embody their brand and translates its brand values, identity and company culture into a compelling experience for staff, customers and visitors. The objective was to create a sense of arrival and a warm welcome, communicate the brand and create an environment that encourages informal contacts.  

Our approach and concept of the reception patio was quite different from the redesign of the kitchen and cafetaria. The renovation of the cafetaria was part of Deloitte’s employer branding strategy and ‘war for talent’. The redesign of the reception patio fits in their corporate brand strategy and image building.

The new reception became a multi-functional space with integrated waiting rooms, meeting rooms and a cosy coffee lounge. In the morning they serve breakfast and during the day, people coming out of a meeting can continue the conversation in an informal atmosphere while having a sandwich and enjoying a ‘real’ expresso.

The biggest challenge of this project was to find a proper identity and a recognisable visual style that expresses the Deloitte brand values and company culture. Office spaces should tell stories, about your workers and your company. Stories that enable greater affinity with the brand. This challenging project was a major branding project, both customer and employer branding.
